Old Growth Olive Trees on the Move

We relocated 61 of our old growth olive trees to Nickel and Nickel Winery in Oakville.
This is a picture of our trees after they were transplanted in front an old barn they relocated from New
Hampshire. They also lined their drive and areas
around their visitor center. It looks like they have been growing there for 100 years.

In the summer of 2007 we moved 2000 of our trees from our original orchard in Oroville, CA to Creston, CA. We got lots of calls from people who saw them traveling down Highway 5 over the 6 hour drive to their new home. They're all settled in and doing just fine. We harvested the 2008 crop from them.
We've also planted a 16-acre high density Arbequina orchard at the Creston location and expect to harvest them in 2009. While we're busy tending to the trees, we are also in the planning phase for a pressing facility and tasting room. We will open the grounds to the public when the facility is completed, hopefully for the 2009 pressing! Stay tuned.
